Hi guys,

I remember a while ago there was some banter about these kits. The site below is selling them at a clearance price and they look pretty scchhweeet.

Just thought i would let you all know.

The only one in my range is the just jap kit....

They are usually $2500-$3000, might get one I think. Anyone want a slightly used Hybrid FMIC?

Marc - can you post a few pics up? How do you go with overheating etc, did it make a noticeable difference to power/ lag. I have done some research on these but cannot find many that have been fitted. Several have said that they caused problems. Any feedback would be welcome.

They look pretty awesome and the very short piping on the cooler would suggest better throttle response.

They do sit pretty far back from the front of the car though from what i can see in Marc's profile pic.

Anyways, im sure they work a treat.

i agree that the response would be good and my concern would be does the heat generated from the radiator have any affect on the intercooler, more so in traffic where there is little or no air flow?

Use toyota coolant and take out that single fan and convert to a dual spal fan set-up. I built my own shroud and it seems to run fine. I have a single turbo with a massive rear end so all considered I think the lag is quite reasonable. Who is giving the kit negative feedback? There are a lot of things that can be done in order to help with temperatures if they become a problem however I have not experienced that since I've installed mine. will take some more pics when I get a chance.

Thanks for that Marc. Some guy on the Supra forums that did the original setup for the Predator system reckoned that he had problems. Very hard to find factual info.

Jeff

I'm interested in your "slightly used Hybrid FMIC" after you get and install the predator.

Interesting. Noted that the site claims they are a PWR core and PWR Radiator. Thats a good thing.

Also found that the price drop is current on at least 2 other aussie performance parts sites.

I found the same, although one site still has them for $3100. I received mine today, quality looks great although there is a couple of minor fitment issues and one hose was wrong. I will post some pics tomorrow.

All went well, couple of minor fitment issues. Drivers side I had to cut about 30 mm of the old top bracket and they sent one wrong hose. Apart from that it's great, just waiting on the e-manage harness to turn up and then I'll see what sort of difference it makes. I got mine through
www.expressparts.com.au Will Tobin runs it, great service and he's still had 10 in stock.
The surface area of the Hybrid I had was 1500 square cm, the predator is 2600, also holds about 4 litres more coolant. For those that reckoned there would be huge heat transfer between the radiator and intercooler, YOU ARE WRONG. You can put you hand on the intercooler after an hours driving, while the top of the radiator would burn you. I would suggest people do not make judgements/statements about products that they have not personally experienced.
I bought a Davies Craig thermatic switch to run the thermo fans and put in the TRD thermostat, it runs between 80-85 degrees for the water temp. That's on days between 28 and 33 degrees. Quality is excellent, almost forgot I had to get another radiator cap to fit, will post number later.

Mega!

Try keep your under trays on to promote max airflow through the intercooler as its getting a little cramped in there.

Engine bay looks great!

WOuld still like to see some Actual back to back results without tuning and such with this setup Vs a FMIC kit :-) Then its a real test! Not adding an emanage and then we'll see how this package goes. That isnt a direct comparison.

I'm very interested to see how this would compare to a FMIC too - not to sure about the 90 degree bend on the core oulet though

Are these availabe anywhere for the clearance price specifically made for the soarer?

I'm very much into throttle response over lag at the moment after getting a VVTi - the short path could be a winner if that outlet isnt restrictive.
Also - having it located so far into the engine bay, I;d be worried about heatsoak and airflow.
