Can someone give me a quick guide as to how to remove and flush the diff on a TT?
It seems simple enough so just a few points is all i need (safety precautions or anything like that) and i should be able to take it from there. Thanks!

ps Standard diff not LSD.

why do u want to remove it. if it is just a flush, pull out the drain plug, empty it then fill from the top plug.

easy as that.

David,

It's pretty simple, chock the front wheels of the car, jack up the rear of the car and lower it onto jack stands, crack and release the pressure on all bolts before completely undoing it.

Undo the drive shafts and tailshaft, and they will both easily come away from the diff, then place jack under the diff, and undo the larger bolts to drop the diff onto the jack, and then lower.

It's not a hard job, and should only take a few hours if you dont have siezed bolts (this is why you crack the bolts first, if you have siezed bolts, no point continuing, because you cant get the bolts off.

There are also 2 12mm hex bolts holding the back the of the diff onto the cradle also.

You will need 1 x 10mm alen key
1x12mm alen key.. Preferably an actual socket in 1/2 inch drive :-) Allen keys + a pipe might work .

proper breakerbar is a must if the diff has never been removed, mine ended up breaking 2 Snap-on breakerbars to be removed last November...
