Hello all :-)

What's the difference between Rebuilt CT12A's and Hybrid CT12A's

What is the process involved in doing both? and also what are the pros and cons of both methods?

As this is my first turbo car i don't know very much about modifying a turbo so give me all you know.
Thanks for your help as always :-)

Re-built CT12A's are just the standard turbos with steel turbine wheels

Hybrid CT12A's are the standard turbos with re-machined housings and ball-bearing centres

They are both good options it depends on your budget...

Re-machiner housings? is that like making the inside of the turbo larger?
and ball bearing centres will make the turbines spool faster and smoother right?

So does the mean the turbo becomes larger in the amount of air it can flow?? or do the ball bearing centres and steel turbines cancel this out?

The Ball bearing turbos help come on quicker. But dont expect them to reach full boost as quick as standard turbos.

I dont get full boost (20psi) until around 4200rpm. But i see positive boost at 1800 - 2000rpm it just takes a while to get to full boost. Thats what ive found anyway with my setup.
