My car makes a creaking noise when coming to a stop, (at low speed) only happens when brakes are depressed, noise is coming from around the drivers front wheel. Any thoughts as to what it could be?
Also I think one of the bushes are gone as it makes a clunk from the passenger side front wheel when going into my driveway, I am assuming its the lower control arm bushes does this sound right?

I had a similar problem and my mechanic tightened a few bolts on the subframe. That stopped the creaking.

Mine made a similar sound when I had damaged the ball joint on the lower control arm. I ended up having to get an entire new arm.

The bolts on the subframe to check, are where the sway bar mounts fit to the frame. They caused a similar clunk on mine before being tightened.

Have you checked your brake pads?

I found a loose bolt on the sway bar bush bracket but it did not seem to help. brake pads also seem ok. ????

If its a new lower arm you need, Castle Hill Toyota quoted me about $1200 from Japan! I ended up getting one second hand in Sydney for $250 but you want to check the condition of the ball-joint and bushes if you do this.

Castle Hill are NOT the cheapest, try Bill Buckle Parts, they will under-cut Castle Hill ;)
