I've read of a wear ball/scar a test done with Milk, Beer, and various engine oils. Beer worked better than synthetic motor oil.

I sure as hell ain't using beer in an engine.

I had my soarer for nearly 4 years, went from 156kw to over 300rwkw and ran lots of quarter mile runs. I think it was up in the 40's at the end on an official track, around 400 dyno runs. Never once had engine problems. All I ever did was change the oil and oil filter regularly. I used anything that came in 10/30 or 10/40, semi synthethic. Usually found stuff that came in that weight was penzoil. I never put mobil 1 in. I even mixed different brands to finish off oil, whatever was cheapest on the day that fit those numbers.

It really doesn't matter. As long as the weight is right, I believe 10w cold and either 30 or 40 running and changing it regularly does the trick.

nulon does a 10-40 full syn, $57 and it's available in 6L bottles! repco stock it, and if they don't have it on the shelf or they only have the 5L ones, they can supply it on request.

David that is the oil I run. The car seemed to run better after I put that in. I have only owned the car a few months so god knows what was in there before.
Also my fathers BMW mechanic recommends Nulon oil.

10W/60 = Crank drag.

There's no need to go /50 or beyond
