Im replacing the main seal in a weeks time ,but my question is would the engine leak heaps on boost? cause i noticed smoke coming from under the car burning off the exhaust after a good run.
also ive done a search on here for main seals and was wondering if you can only purchase main seal from toyota or would burson ,repco stock this.. cause motor court toyota in mornington are donkeys when it comes to imports

ill take a look for you at work tommorow (in the kelpro listing).....

speaking of which, im now worried the main seal is gone in my car, as under pressure (on the dyno) their was a leak from the engine bay that burned on the exhaust....

(i know this has been asked 5000000000 times) but it the main seal a cheap labour or expensive labour job? (i hate the word hard or easy as i will not be doing it myself) :-)

It is normally accessed by dropping the gearbox out, so if you consider that hard then take it as you wish.

Use genuine toyota parts for important parts guys as it will be in there for years and you don't want to skimp out on things like this.

i just got off the phone from bursons and they tell me that the main seal is a common part used in camry, 1jz etc and they have them in stock for $23

I agree with chris, it's worth doing it with a genuine part, $70 from toyota. It's a prick of a job. That reminds me, i should have got it changed when I got my clutch done...
