A manifold is a manifold, they're cheap as chips on ebay. But that turbo? I've read a lot about ebay turbos, is this one I should avoid and stick to paying $300 for standard twins?

You get what you pay for, at that price it would be rubbish. The standard twins can take you well over 200rwKW and much cheaper to replace them then going a whole single conversion. My two cents anyway.

I agree with Bobby mate "Stay away" Has bodgie all over it.Go for good brand name turbo's and dealers so there is someone to come back on if it goe's pear shape. As Bobby said the single path is dearer than you think even though you might get a setup this cheap you still have to buy oil and water line's then manufacture a dump pipe and also intake pipe's with pod filter. The cost blow's out then you will need a Ecu to tune it also.

Cool thanks guys, will give it a miss then. How would I go about getting 200RWKW out of a standard setup? Links would be great, I'm always up for tinkering with my car :p Also (excuse my lack of knowledge here), what is the standard RWKW on a TT Soarer?

FMIC,3inch exhaust,BFI,FCD and some extra boost(14psi) should see you get there and more.Raise the boost a little more and you would be around the 210-220kw's

Oh cool man that sounds bloody great. My car was boosting 11psi stock before the turbos shat themselves. I'm thinking about investing in two boost taps and running them in cabin, that way I will be sure that each turbo is doing equal work I may buy decent ones for a change, rather than cheap label-less rip offs. Where would I find a fuel cut defender? And what sort of price would I be looking at? Easy install? Sorry for all the questions, I'm still a bit of a noob with the Soarers. But, you will all be happy to hear that I'm a do it once, do it right kind of guy, I love my car too much for short cuts :p I'm saving my gas money (I don't know about you aussie blokes, but it's spiraling out of control over here, almost 2 bucks a litre!) for the ever necessary front mount, I've chosen to pipe a pod filter down to the front of the front bumper (standard IC location) rather than go with a BFI, and the 3" exhaust will go on last, for now I'm rolling with two straight pipes out the back, to hell with mufflers. Bahaha

Next question - Will I need to look at injector/fuel pump upgrades if I wind up the boost? I've had two turbo cars prior to my Soarer, one being a GTX Familia, I wound that right up to about 15 psi, the engine went perfectly well until the running gear had a spat. The next was a GT4 Celica (ST185), I wound that from 7psi standard to 10psi and all of a sudden I got noisy tappets and whatnot, it didn't run very well at all. Will I have this problem with my 1JZ? I have every intention of getting it to 200+ RWKW but I want to play it safe, because it hurts me when my cars break down haha

If you live by your word then the boost tee is not your answer also running two tee's is a waste of money,Get an Electronic boost controller as this will hold boost more stable as the tee type will spike.Go with either and E-boost2,Greddy profec B(cheaper option),Blitz or Apexi AVCR.

Nah mate the stock injectors have seen up to 230kw's along with the fuel system.Daniel clark is the man to talk to about using the FCD....

Thanks man. I think I may stick with the boost taps for the short term, I looked up a few electronic boost controllers and they're a little pricey for now. And wont a FMIC and 3" exhaust give me a little higher boost anyway? Also, why is it that boost taps cause a spike and an EBC does not? They both simply restrict the signal to the wastegate don't they? Maybe another n00b comment

With the fmic exhaust and pod filter my boost had raised to 13psi and the end result was 180kw's,So you would at least need to go to 15psi to see it close to the 200kw mark.
Boost tee's do the same as EBC's but EBC's can manage the boost level were you can't with a tee. With the tee you set it to the boost level and that's it,Every time you come on boost It will spike then drop to the boost level you set it too.EBC's don't do this,They hit the boost level and release pressure through the solinoid till it levels out to the boost you set it too.So there is no spiking.
