Would there be any problems say you had a BallBearing turbo (GT30R) on a car and then took it off for storage (in perfect condition when taken off car)- whilst in storage all the holes were blocked off and then about 1 - 2 years later decided to take it out and then re-use it.
Do they rust up inside by any chance?

Or would it still be ok ?

Short answer is it should be fine.

Best to first fill the chra with oil and block off the feed + return, then give the shaft a spin and put aside.

i was in a similiar situation to this.
The turbo seal went after 2 weeks.... car was smoking like a chimney
