Hey all I need a quick answer.
My mates Aristo TT has lost boost (usually a comfortable 10psi now max 6 psi) and there is a rattle on the turbo side of the engine when you blip the throttle and the engine runs down to idle.
My guess is he has done a turbo exhaust wheel. Can someone confirm these symptoms?
He has had a look for loose/disconnected hoses and piping but it all seems intact.
I have told him to get the car on stands and check in the exhaust piping for any debris.
Yes, I will search later when I get the chance.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is his daily driver for a 40km commute to work.

Hmm this is an interesting question. I was about to say yeah you lost the rear turbo, but it might not be that.
An aristo is sequential so could be a few things.
1) Rear turbo lost its wheel. 2) Compressor pipe wastegate not opening (or valve come loose...this is at the top). 3) The BIG wastegate at the bottom isn't opening the exhaust up on the rear turbo.
Check wastegate vacuum lines. Also there are 1 or 2 valves that control opening etc, make sure lines are attached and plugs in.
Biggest clue to what is wrong is to really check where the rattle is coming from.

That is where the rattle seems to be coming from on a cursory inspection. I actually said it seemed to high up to be a bit of the wheel inside the exhaust.
He wasnt accelerating or hitting it hard when it went. The power just wasn't there.

Hey guys thanks for the input much appreciated, I but after further investigation i feel a bit silly. The cat had started to die and turned sideways blocking the exhaust flow thus inturn creating a boost restriction.
