Not sure if this normal, but every time I drive and hit boost, I smell exhaust in the car. I didn't notice it before. Could it be just extra fuel burning?

Whatever the cause is, it shouldn't be inside the car. Check for exhaust leaks or the tips being a fair bit too short.

Don't know how the smell gets in the car. Anyhow, with expensive petrol these days, I drive without hitting boost until I can get someone to get a look at it. Hopefully its not serious.

dude, the exhaust your smelling is the extra fuel being unburned in a richer mixture as the engine is loaded.

Thats all good and well, but it still means theres a leak in there, and carbon monoxide is ourdourless. So you could well be breathing in more than normal as you drive.... Hope you dont feel sleepy or have headaches, or flu like symoptoms right now....

Ok, so if was to take it to a mechanic, where should I tell him to look at? The whole exhaust system for leaks?

I know that the car is tuned to run rich on boost from the dyno graphs I've got.

I do have a cold-like symptom right now. Could be from the weather... I don't feel sleepy though :-)
