hi everyone. went to the toymods dyno day last sunday. with my 1jz soarer and here's the results:






the car is stock in every shape except for 2 small cannon style mufflers on the back. any thoughts? i was told that it might be running really rich?

It is running rich, ideally the AFR should be round 11.5 - 12. So there is still some more power and economy to be gained with a proper tune.

Check to make sure your 02 sensor is working, if it is not, it will cause it to run rich

My car was the same when i 1st bought it. It ran terribly rich and made 160RWKW.

Then i put a full exhaust with Lews Dumps, intercooler and had a SAFC installed and tuned at 13psi at it made 201rwkw.

SAFCs are getting cheap now and they are not too hard to install and setup. Prob save you fuel also !

yeah i knew a guy who made a set of dumps up for somebody else but the sale fell through and i was going to get them off him cheap (bout $200)

i'm trying hard not to sink money into this car. and i'm just about to do the timing belt and a couple of other little bits and piece's for its 100,000k service

can i advance or retard the timing to fix the running rich issue?


another thing i've noticed after installing my boost guage is that boost will get up to 10psi and then drop back down to about 9 - 9.1/2 (the little dip half way in the graph i assume)

THats all normal for a stock TT, they run very rich:-)

Changing cam timing will not lean it out any at those boost levels. Just up the boost and fit a FCD or SAFC and this will help some.
