| Hey, Well I'm over it pretty much, what else can I say???
I guess you have picked it by now, if not basically the sudden drop is where one of my HKS T3G's let go.......... Not too sure what psi he was pushing at this stage, but he said it was around the 15 to 16psi range. So where do I go from here, I guess go a full one off roller bearing T3G setup, cost i dont want to even know or think about it at the moment. Feeling pretty crappy at the moment, maybe I should cut my losses and move on, been a tough year to date for me and my TT Anyone got any idea's how to get me up and running without too much expense, or do I laugh now at your answers...... |

Thats some hard luck Steven.. What would it cost you to just get the t3gs up and running? Not a full out ball bearing build?

stick with what you have and repair them.... then you will will have a brand new set, that should last ********kms...... single will cost at least and i mean at least $5k drive on the car without the other turbo for a month or two (ok, i know there will be 0 boost) and then rebuild them....) trust me on this one, i know how you feel.... (when it happened to me it made my top 10 worst moments ever)

Thats unlucky mate! Speak to MTQ GCG and ATS and get a rebuild price! You already have the firepower there to make it happen.. Get some new ones in there and finish her off so you can enjoy all the pain

Bush bearing is getting a little long in the tooth Ryan, mate if I'm going to rebuild them, might as well go the whole hog...... Roller bearing should give me quicker spool up too which is a plus, and if I can find someone who might be able to match them up with a new dump pipe (similar to what Lew makes) correct me if I'm wrong but should give me a better top end also...... But then I think more cash, I think I'm feeling so negative because this (which I was dreaming) should have been my last major spend on the car. I was just hoping to enjoy it now on both the Street and Track...... |

Single.. and no it wont cost 5k. ill part with my kit - turbo, water lines, manifold, dump pipe, oil drain all for $3500. My turbo has less than 8000kms on it. Its a dual rollerbearing garret 3082r 600hp version with the t3 .82 exhaust. This turbo will net you more than 300rwkw and is not laggy. Also the turbo has a polished front housing.. ANyway just an option for you.. Reason for me wanting to upgrade is i want a 800hp mr Turbo billet turbo as im planning to go to a 3ltr bottom end soon.

Oh no mate! I know what you are going through mate! Dam that is harsh.......It is one of those feelings that you don't won't to feel......I bet you hate your soarer right now.....! As you are thinking of rebuild.....It will still cost close to the $3500 to get this done.....Christian is offering a really good deal mate....And the good thing about the single is it's easy to replace than have to get someone else to do it......Consider this deal mate as you won't get a better one.....You already have the ECU and Injectors to suite. Also mate I will lend you a hand to strip down and install the single or twins(just give me a room for the night and a couple of grappa's hahahaha)...up to you mate wich way you go but if it was me....I would snap up the single. One last stab though......Hahahahaha.......Sorry Mate but! I HAVE 267rwkw's HAHAHAHAHA! Cheer up checho' Things will get better....!

Eeep! That scares me mate! I blew my standard turbos a while back and i was shattered by that, if i blew my T3G's id be going rank! Sorry to hear mate, I would consider christians offer though! your T3G's would still be worth some money to someone even if one is gone. Could work out cheaper for you.

although just to rebuild the one blown turbo will cost $1200 or so. this would be the cheap way out and you will still make good power.. either way sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Steven - That sucks badly mate i really do feel your pain. It is soo annoying when this kind of thing happens and i have sold MANY of my previous cars after something like this has happened and i have the biggest dummy spit in the world. I have to agree with some of the boys here and say "get em rebuilt". I was looking for a T3G setup also for a while and i ended up going single but bought a bloody T66 so a little too big for me. In hindsight i should have gotten a setup like Christian's... hmmmmm..... you want a 600HP Ball Bearing XTR T66 Christian ?

James, mine is a 600hp ball bearing. I want bigger.. well atleast i think i do. only problem is gearbox and diff are on their way out. not cheap to fix and bank is a little empty. also want the 3ltr bottom end. Getting a bigger turbo would be useless for me unless i did all of this. James, that turbo will get you over 300rwkw with the right tuner.. not a worry. ideally for now if i could, i would swap my turbo got a gt35r with the .82 or even the t04z with the .82. That would bold strait on and i wouldnt have to mod anything.

Yeah with the single, don't get me wrong it would be a nice setup but I would have to drive a car with a single setup first before I consider going that way. Christian I will consider your offer and I thank you for it. I just got a call from Niall, the car is going in on Monday to get fully assessed and find out a figure on cost and go from there. As for you Jeff, I can easy get a chart which I saw with my own eyes saying 265rwkws at 16psi

You can get a t3g rebuilt for around 750 if the housing/shaft area isn't too far damaged. Also, if you're not using a BOV it will cause failure like this relatively quickly - especially on the dyno.

remeber a single will need engineering, or face an instant sticker, also this means no pod etc to get it engineered...... (just giving you the fine print) + a single needs an ecu...... (if you already dont have one)

Oh and a e-manage ultimate with greddy 3 bar map sensor and Sard analyse chipped ECU. The Sard is mainly in there to take care of the boost, fuel and speed cut. This way the tuner can get a way better tune not having to worry about any of those....
