G'day team , i'm having issues with my car. When i start it it runs really rich although all the fuel has been taking out of cold start, blows a bit of black smoke but that goes away after a minute or so. But that aint the main issue , after running the car for a while and then turning it off it doesnt like starting again , i have to let it sit for about 10 mins before it will start again , bit of a pain at the fuel station. its slighlty modified 264 intake 272 exhaust cams cam gears retarded 2 deg on exhaust malpassi regulator ( was on car when i bought it) fmic and r2d2 bov sard 650 cc injectors walbro fuel pump profec boost controller and an e-manage ultimate tuned to 9 psi but going in for re-tune next week for higher boost so if anyone has had this problem or can help me out it would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance Brian

spark plugs are 2 weeks old same with coil packs ,the dude at wreckers wont sell me the stock fuel reg but i guess i'll have to force the issue a bit and the bloke that does the tuning says he has it all set up but i will have a chat with him on monday cause thats when car is going back in
NOT your fuel reg! its the Emanage Ultimate. Its the additional injector pulse width added be factory ecu when cold. The compenstation in the EMU cannot cater for this too good.
there are a few ways around this. Can trick your factory ecu in thinking its always a constant temperature (via resistor) and tune cold start with EMu and hook temp sensor up to that. or not trick the EMU and remove fuel under certain temperature via emanage.
Probably best not to trick factory computer as ISCV (idle up) wont work properly when cold, thermo fans might not kick in when needed... etc.. but if you do trick it the EMU wont be fighting the factory ECU constantly.....
well this is where im upto with my setup..
and daniel, a fuel reg is not a bad thing. It can help in getting a good spray pattern from your injectors> Aftermarket injectors may not have a good spray pattern at factory pressure, or at increased pressure (when fuel pump is installed). When changing to a bigger pump, it can increase rail pressures dramatically and this is can be very dangerous, especially with side feed injectors, as o-rings have been known to let go and cause under bonnet fires.
