the only way to explain this is by telling yous the whole story, maybe then us can help me.
my original radiator had a crack on the top near the cap and i tried to get it patched up but it was too big and it would leak but at a slower rate.
so i decided to get a second hand radiator. since my dad is over seas and i dont know how to do it (nor do i have time) i take it to one of my mechanics (expensive mech. but does the job right, that is so far).
anyways once he put the radiator that i supplied he noticed a hole on the bottom and said it was no good and since they had the car on the hoist with no radiator i got him to supply me with another secondhand radiator.
now heres the problem. he fitted the radiator he supplied and the car was fine when he tested it out. so i picked it up and drove it home, pushed it a bit here and there to test it out and it was fine. so i turn the heater on and it was fine too, until i drove about 11km when it started to overheat.
so i called him and took the car back. Now i spoke to my trust worthy mechanic ( who is now temp closed) and he said the core is F**ked, straight out like that. when i took my soarer back to the other guy and he flushed the radiator twice and re-checked the radiator again. once again couple days later i picked it up and he said he tested it out and it was fine.
so i drove back home and again about 11km it started to over heat. i called him and suggested that the radiator is F**cked and he keeps saying that the radiator is fine and to bring the car back on sat.
Now is this guy trying to avoid taking out the radiator and putting another one under his cost or is there really something els wrong???
i dont believe so, simply because my old radiator with a crack and NO FAN WORKING (panel beater didn't know how to connect it, i have a after marked electric one and i didnt notice it for a few days) lasted the same distance even longer without overheating.
now what should i do when i see him on sat, i dont really want to start trouble because his the only one around the area that knows what his doing (i think so at least) and i might stil need him, yet i dont want him to waste my time with this bullshit of me driving the car back and forwards.
sorry for the long story.

Make sure your thermo fan is cutting in and out properly, it sounds like it isn't. That would explain why you get about 11 kms before it overheats. Mine takes about that before it gets up to operating temp and the thermos start working, if yours aren't kicking it it will just continue to get hotter.
New radiator.. My car never overheated, but my top tank split. whey my top tank was removed to replace, the core wasnt looking too flash.. to save on having problems in the near future i just went the only sensible option... new radiator!

NEW RADIATOR....ohh man, how much is that going to set me back? really not looking forward to this.
hmm....i guess i could change the top tank from my old radiator, since the core of it is fine. But first i have to get my money back from the one i bought.

finally, problem solved. after spending almost $700 to change one damn radiator and all i had to do is buy one brand new radiator.
peter, you where right. and Ryan, i ended up going to D&D radiators and they did a good job in installing the radiator and the thermo fan, i really like that they didnt drill threw the core in order to bolt on the fan.
