So I've been running my mouth a little and know I could probably use a little help. I've been challenging a fairly stock 07 Trailblazer SS. It should run mid 14's in stock form. My Personal Best is a 14.48. I know if we hit the track like this it will be a drivers race, but I'm looking to get every edge I can in the next few days.
Here's what I've got so far. HKS intake MkIV supra SMIC Aftermarket cat back exhaust.
So I'm here what I'm thinking. I have a boost Tee I've never installed and I might do it. I was planning to replace it with a proper boost controller in the winter. So if I install this properly I may get boost spikes as I've read. So if I'm not running a fuel/boost cut defender and I hit the cut are there any negative permanent effects?
The other thing I was thinking is gutting the cat. I'm going to replace the whole mid pipe eventually, will gutting the cat add any power or create negative effects?
Any other ideas? Has to be cheap or free, and preferably low risk.

gutting the CAT is not a good idea. if you get pulled over and inspected. you will get a BAD defect. yes it will give you more power. but it's not worth the trouble.
If you want to do it properly get a HI-FLOW cat from a good exhaust shop.
With the boost tee. you will need a fuel cut defender because it WILL spike above 14 psi. even if you trim it to say 13psi.
I hit 14 psi sometimes at night without a boost tee. not good.

Last thing you want to do is be a nose in front, have it spike and hit boost cut, then lose lol... My guess is your car is running about 12psi as is, I'd leave the boost tee for now.

Great idea, you don't legally need one in Canada anyways so no point, rip it out, dont' gut it, go to an exhaust shop and pay the $50 (Maximum) to replace it with a piece of straight pipe and your boost might jump up to a pound or so, 13psi would be good.

How about removing all your heavy subs (if you got them) remove the spare wheel out of the boot, and if you can get away with it, remove passenger seat/rear seat (An electric Passenger seat alone is near on 30kg's.
With weight reductions, apparently every 100lbs you remove you shed .1 off your ET.

So if I hit boost cut does it hurt the car?
No, it's a safety feature, it doesn't hurt the car.

do you have a boost gauge? If so what boost are getting at the moment? If not install one and see how close you can get to the boost cut which is 14.5 psi from memory without hitting the cut that way you can max your engine power it might not spike too badly mine didn't spike heaps with my boost t until i got custom dumps and a front pipe so you should be able to get pretty close to 13.5 psi or so good luck and kick his ass

Remove your drivers side headlight, for nice Air Feed also... And yeah, remove your passenger seat and rear seats, empty your boot, ie no spare or tools... Run some octane booster, Install a Brand new set of Spark plugs gapped @ 0.8mm and some fresh oil....

Get a Fuel Cut Defender, drop 16psi of boost into it, run your tyres @ 20-22psi like Jeff mentioned... With a Decat, if you dont run 13.3-13.5's, theres something wrong

Can you run leaded fuel in canada? Get avgas (or lotsa octane booster) then reset ecu. It should remap for higher octane and give you a few more horses. Leaded fuel is pretty bad for oxy sensors but as long as its only occasionally should be sweet (my MR2 loved it)

I have to agree with Chris..... You won mate as you didn't do the same mods as him.... If you did you would have been in the 13's giving him the bone ...Hahahahahaha
