hey fellas i am just after a rundown on how thirsty the 1JZ twin turbo motor is, i have heard mixed results of roughly 13L/100km city driving and 11L/100km on the highway and sometimes better

Does this sound about right? Just after i rundown, i don't want to start a way. Cheers

Thats about right. Each car AND driver will be different.

City driving expect 11-14L/100km
Freeway driving 8-11/100km

wow, there quite good, i expect u plant the foot there goes any kind of fuel economy

Thanks for that, looks like il be happy with this car, good fuel economy if driven conservatively, and plenty of power on tap when needed. And all inm luxury, what more can u want

I drive from Bathurst to Lithgow with my TT manual
6 days a week for work, I get 680 KM'S on 65L so it averages 9.5L/100 KM'S, I have tryed BP, Shell, Caltex, Moble, and United servo's all High Octane and the KM'S/100 dont change. I'm very happy with economy, Only mod's are custom air box (made by Mick Keen)and boost controler, tried standard boost, and boost up to 14psi with same results.

Yeah but most people don't let it run till empty ...
The way i test fuel economy ...
- Fill up too full
- Reset Trip
When you decide to fill up ... whenever this may be ...
The amount of litres you fill up is the amount you used to travel that distance ?

When the tank shows empty, there's 8 litres of fuel remaining. In testing, i did ~60kms on this reserve before stalling up a hill :-)

Definitely a 78L tank.

Also experimented with 'SLC' which stands for super lean cruise, average economy bounced to 9.6L/100kms with a combination of city + hwy driving.

well, being the first week ive had it, i went through a tank in about 400ks, not to bad considering i was driving it pretty hard for 80% of that time. Il be installing a new O2 sensor sometime soon as well, its the original and 16 years really slows those suckers up.
