I've got a '92 factory manual TT and I experienced a bit of an unusual issue the other day...

I was driving, came up to a round-about and stopped for traffic, tried to then drive off when it was clear but the car stalled. It didn't seem like a driver-inflicted stall because all of the lights on the dash went out. I then immediately started the car up again without any problems and drove off.

After exiting the round-about I noticed that my music sounded different, to find that my head unit had lost all it's settings! I saw that my dash clock had reset too.

I haven't had any problems with the car whatsoever prior to this incident nor has anything else happened since.

About a month or so ago I installed a new sound system, but at the time of the incident the music was on very quietly.

Does anybody have any ideas what have caused this?

I appreciate any input.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I inspected them and they seem fine. I'll see how it goes.

Have a look at the earth. Trace the cable from the battery to where it bolts to the chassis under the battery. I had a similar problem, and a remove, clean and refit solved it.
