YOu can fine a Set of HKS T3G's second hand, they normally go for $2500 second hand...

HOwever, Steven N is selling a set that ave been rebuilt with Ball bearing centres for $4750 for the Kit. Thats Both manifolds, the turbos, HKS dumps, Oil + water lines...

Another option is getting the factory ones Steel Wheeled and high flowed (
www.gcg.com.au ) or even getting Ball Bearing Centres fitted.. Normally Gt2560's can be fitted or even 2860's. But for either of these applications, you will need custom water and Oil lines. WHile your at it, you would also fit some Custom Dumps.

I dont think there are any other bolt-on options for twins apart from T3G's.

Everything else is custom designed.

so t3g's are easiest and most cost effective then i guess. But do they perform and stand up against some custom design?

Pending on the custom setup your talking about, I have only ever seen 2 different types of Twin setups for the TT becides the stock setup. The T3G's are a awesome design simply because they fit in the factory position. The amount of R&D HKS would have gone through to design this setup would have taken a massive amount of time. I mean the whole design of the setup fits perfectly in the engine bay, no modification required to any single part, hence the reason I chose to purchase this setup in the first place. The only bad thing I find about the setup is they are getting a little long in the tooth, I would be really careful purchasing a second hand setup. I'm speaking from experience here as I purchased my setup for dirt cheap at the time, only to have 1 of the turbo's let go at 17psi on the dyno while tuning. Again now with the rebuilt that I done about 2 months now, I had the turbos completely overhauled, bigger internals fitted, new actuators, new braided lines made up, new fittings, pretty much everything is brand new and 7K later you have a awesome Hybrid setup. A very expensive excerise considering I am advertising them for 4K now, but what do you do???

The other setup I have seen is a Trust twin setup, it was a 25G setup I think, came complete with seperate waste gates for both turbos, looks the goods but cop bait again, stuck out and like a sore thumb.

It would have been nice if there were some more manufacturers that make twin kits for these, but then people argue why not bolt a single on the side. I personally think that if toyota wanted to stick a single on the side they would have from factory which they eventually did with the VVTi, but I don't agree with a single on a non VVTi 1J, never liked the idea, never will.....
