I want to eventually be pushing 450-500hp respectively and efficiently. I don't have any experience with turbo engines, and I have a relatively stock 93 JZZ30 right now. What can I do and what should I do if I want more power?

Thanks for the reply, I've been reading up some of the stuff on there already. Majority of the cars they have in there require a big chunk in the wallet, I don't want to pull out too much of my savings which is the only downfall i'm having now.

400hp is quite hard for stock turbos.
start with some basic mod first like Michaal said above, exhaust fmic, boost controller and ecu. and you will achieve about 180-220 kw@wheels depends on what boost you plan to run.

Thanks for the link James, I already upgraded my Soarer to a 3" exhaust line. The downpipe is still stock. I think that's what it is? It leads down from the engine and connects before the cat. What would be recommended so I can get the best exhaust flow?
Ben Socratous Goo Roo SA as i drive though the valley of the 1/4 mile, i shall fear no falcodore, for the angel of boost is with me

If you're aiming for 500hp, then I would not bother to much more with the exhaust you have on now, as it will all go in the bin when you put a massive singe turbo on the side of the motor!
500hp is doable on a 1J, it just depends on how reliable you want it to be and how deep your pockets are. I'm aiming for around 400-420hp in my build, and its already up to well over $10k.

Depends whether your taling Flywheel HP or Real Wheel HP . Also US dynos are about 15% higher than Oz ones, so 400rwhp could be acheivable on stock turbos realistically . 18-19psi full exhaust, ecu inkectors, fmic, filter .
If you mean flywheel hp, then it will make it easily . Im making about 420-430hp @ the motor .
