MV automatics suggest that above 260rwkw you should start looking to rebuild it with extra clutches(uprated frictions) and kevlar band etc.then he rates them to 350rwkw, but some have run over 400rwkw. As Ben says, its all a factor of power and time.

I try not to do full throttle shifts on the street. The only time my car keeps full throttle on shifts is at the track.
Ive had a shift kit for 2 years and the box is still running sweetly. The cars been making 260rwkw for almost 2 years, i have an uprated trans cooler with thermo fan mounted int he SMIC spot, and flush the fluid every 12 mths.

I try not to do full throttle shifts on the street too, but sometimes you just cant help yourself. I'm running about the same rwkw as Daniel, MV autos 1.5 shift kit, trans cooler & cams shift box. Minus the shift box that is a recent (brilliant) addition, I've had this configuration for 2 years now too. All seems ok still & I also recommend the fluid change every 12 months. I have just spoken to Mike at MV autos & can get a 500rwkw box & 2800/3000 stally for under 3k. That's one of my next little projects. I do still miss the clutch sometimes, however this setup, run in manual mode is awesome. Still no sign of the current box dying tho. I'm pretty happy about that.

I suppose it depends on the kind of driving you are doing and the bang for buck you are seeking. I'm often in the city, and as much as i like to drive a manual I'm not up for the work of a manual. Sh#tty stop/start traffic is just too much work, let a lone the wear & tear it would put on a 5/6 speed manual setup. IMO, for high power engines, off the lights, drag strip & especially city type traffic, I personally believe you cant go past the tricked auto/manualised auto setup. With the shift box, I can just flick it back to auto mode & its in drive as normal. In manual mode, it shifts so so so fast, and from 2nd to 3rd it's like lightening. Total setup costs for this....Throttle body, Trans cooler, Cams shift box & fitting was about $900 (maybe a $100 more expensive now). For under a grand & minimum hassle, I'm surprised more people haven't gone this option? Remember that I'm still on the standard box. When I do upgrade to the MV autos souped up box, it's going to be total Christmas cake! I'm also more surprised that Cam hasn't been run off his feet manufacturing these little babies? I'll keep the 5/6 speed manual trans idea for a future track car (shhhh, did my financial controller hear that?)

James, Yeah it does, and my baby has trapped higher mph than Jeffs
Mark is on the money, For a daily driver in peak traffic, everyday driving, Drag duties , you cant go bast a tricked auto!
But for circuit, you cant go past a manual. I just couldnt justify spending almost half of what a car is worth just to make it a manual . But thats cause im happy with what i got

Sounds like a faulty shaft, or maybe a bad install. I was putting over 300rwkw and low 60ft times at the drags which is hugely stressful on the drivetrain.
