I think you’re on the money Christian. I have removed the Lead, and took the car for a serious run. It still seems to be running ok. But for how long is the question. Because it’s now out of warranty Hypergear want $400.00 to rebuild it.
I think I will give that a big pass. I am not spending another cent on this turbo.

Wow, what a wrong way to make a compressor wheel and balance it. The material must be homogeneous to properly balance it.
I've seen Kyp from ATP balance my T51 turbo and we put a peice of blue tack on the comp wheel to to prove a point about balancing. IT was out by 500 units on the Schenk balancer. The blue tack was a 2mm ball diameter and weighted SFA. My turbo was balanced to 2.5 units, with 10-15 units being the industry standard.
A small layer of material is removed with a dremel tool from the comp housing (front and back) and the rear turbine wheel (on the back)
Ide be skeptical if MTQ even bother with these turbos since their reputation is at stake. I've never seen a turbo been balanced by drilling holes then filling them up with lead.
