I hope you are referring to a Mazda3 MPS, because I own a Mazda3 SP23 and it is no where near the performance of my soarer with less mods than yours!

But I would have thought even with that list you have, it would beat a turbo hot hatch!

I run even with Clubsport R8's so I'm pretty happy with that - but hey, no matter how many mods you do, there is always going to be someone faster who spent more!!! haha depressing I know ....

not very familiar with mazdas but it was fast and completely left me.
it wasnt stock... it had exhaust, loud external wastegate and must have been manual.

any mods that i can do without having to do more mods for them ??

What turbo's are you running? still stock? I am not entirely convinced bigger twins will help give you more power than a single conversion. read through this and you might get a better understanding of why I say this.

Got to section "Multiple Turbos"

http://www.turbokart.com/turbochargedengines.htm#IX

Or if you can't be bothered reading through that here's the nut shell version.

"Some high performance vehicles have utilized a system called sequential turbocharging, namely the Porsche 959 and the Toyota Supra Turbo. A sequential system typically uses one small turbo and one large turbo. At low engine speed, all flow passes through the small turbo, to spool up quickly and produce boost at low rpm. As the exhaust flow increases, the second, large turbo, is phased in to produce high boost at high levels of exhaust flow. In theory this concept works well, however, the amount of plumbing involved, along with all of the electronically controlled valves to route the exhaust and compressor flow makes this system very complex, and in practice, boost response is no better than a well engineered wastegate system(Single conversion)."

Hope you find the extra grunt under the hood. :-)

ECU (Piggy back or Full replacement) and Boost Controller will be next on your list mate.

This SHOULD net you well over 300hp. Make sure you have a free flowing dump pipe to reduce back pressure, otherwise when boosting your stock turbos, they will die real fast.

Hey Nathan,

Did you use the Evo 7/8 Brembos with an adapter plate?

I am looking at doing the same thing soon.

Just because you have an exhaust, doesnt mean its good.

A 3" system with no cat and 1 muffler will make 30 KWs more than a system with a cat, hotdog and muffler.

My "full exhaust" lost 60 rwkw on the dyno with my silencer in the muffler, I cant strees enough that the exhaust is key to the soarer, and if your worried, get a varex, you can have you cake and eat it in this day and age

and will make your balls so big they will drag along the ground....

and before you ask, I have about as much proof as you do!

Don't make ridiculous claims you cant backup....using quality parts is the key, and you'll have no less power with the addition of a quality cat, muffler, or hotdog... I know because i've done it.

My car was dynoed with Lew's Dumps to 2.75" inch to hi-flow cat then into twin 3" mufflers. The most I could get out of it was 219rwkw tuned.
I kept the dumps but changed it to 3" mid pipe to 3" hi flow cat then into the same 3"mufflers power jumped to 254rwkw.
It shows how important a good system is.
I have since had a decat pipe made and improved my 1/4mile times by from 12.3-12.2 not a lot but still worth it.

Don't forget guy's! It's not a good ide to encourage street racing... I'm as guilty as anyone but would be best if it was taken to the track... Don't forget there is the public you have to think about and pole's and tree's you can hit.... I don't mind if you want to beat the mazda but the track is where it's at... Take it to the nearest 1/4mile and run manny cars in a safe and controlled environment...

i have stock twins with ceramic wheels so any boosting will crack my turbos, so no boost controller for now.
in darwin there are a lot of secluded roads with NO cars at all this is where i got killed by a mazda 3 !

regarding the brake upgrades,
my cousin works for a company called WESTCON which distributes brembo brakes.
i got a set of 4 to fit my soarer for only $9999
installed !

boosting won't break your turbos i've had mine boosted to 16.5psi for two years and no trouble but i always change the oil every 5000kms i think this problem is overrated and this stops a lot of people really enjoying their soarer with the stock turbos because they are scared of turbo failure

CRacked,lol... Ive known MORE turbos to die at 10psi than i have heard fail at 16+psi !

Ive been running 18+psi for almost 2 1/2 years now. Car runs flat 12's high 11's and makes 260rwkw @ 17.5psi on pump fuel . All on stock turbos.

The Key is Good Oil and CHanges at regular intervals. I change mine round 4000kms. If i race alot, I will dump it at 3000kms .

Cheap insrance, and ive clocked over 60,000kms on my ride since i got it. Its now up to 176,000kms and going strong.

Dont be to hard on yourself.

I lost to a 07 swift. One of those races where your not involved! I wanted to catch up but my lane was ending. So I had to brake. Once i merged, I planted my foot down but my conscience kicked in... by the time i hit boost and caught up, ill be in jail and my car gets raped!
No point in losing my license over this. So i didnt bother. I bet the guy/girl is cheering lol

Rob, Dave has the dyno sheets to back up his claims, I've seen them. I personally know of 2 other JZ's that were running brand new apexi exhaust systems. Both later had the cats removed one made 7 and the other 11 rwkw more than it did with them in there. At the end of the day, no matter how good a cat it is, it still is a restriction of some sort and you WILL make more power without it in there. Obviously that power is more so at the top end, and it isn't exactly practicle on a street car, but will make more power none the less.

seriously get a boost controller, turbosmart eboost is worth every dollar, with a touch of a button you can put the boost up to 14psi then back down to 10, stop worrying about the ceramic stock turbos to they are cheap to replace anyway

Yeah but a T valve doesnt eliminate wastegate creep. That is worth getting a nice EBC, i recommend the Greddy Profec B Spec 2 unit :-)
