Ok I'm currently running Hancock Ventus K104, there 275-35-18. I've run them at pressures between 22psi & 35psi to try and find some kind of traction, 22psi at the moment is the best I can get.

I can not get traction in first or second gears, even when you click third at 120 it will kick out sideways, I am expecting a lot considering the power but still is there a better tyre for me?

I've been looking at Kumho Ku36 315-30-18, Sumitomo HTR Z III but the widest they make them is a 265-35-18, Nitto NT555 zr 285-35-18, Toyo Proxes R888 or 315-30-18 or R1R or Ra1 anyone run any of these yet?

Semi Slicks. All the traction you could ever need, also you can just run the 265s and you should be fine. The amount of extra traction over a normal road tire is huge.

Toyo proxies will give you plenty of grip too mate.

But agreed as said above, you cant beat a semi slick like a federal or a nitto semi slick.

Get some 16's and throw some slicks on there. You'll get all the grip in the world with 16's. Hell, you can get Supra TT wheels and run 275/40/17's and get way more grip than a 30 series tire, even if it is a 315.

Pretty Sure Cam made 340rwkw and had to stop because of lack of fuelling issues . SO it should make more when up to its potential.

Cam, if you are running 300+rwkw, then you are expecting to much! James (im sure he is lurking somewhere one here) has an A70 with 350rwkw and that thing kicks out sideways at the drop of a hat, even with michelin 285 full racing slicks. Basically with that kind of power, there is NO tyre that will grip up in the lower gears or if you drop it hard on the freeway, all I could suggest is to learn better throttle control (kinda spoils the fun though!).

There are production cars that make more power, and can hang on, but you gotta be prepared to spend big money.

but not semi slicks. Hence why you can run a thinner tire.

Yea I made 357rwkw @ 5700rpm and ran out of fuel pump, so it has been upgraded and now looking to rev to 7500 - 8000rpm and go close to 450rwkw on pulp.

You don't need better tyres, you need traction control.

Semi slicks would be Ok in the dry, but be bloody careful in the wet. The Falken 615 should be a decent balance between grip and longevity, as they have a treadwear index of 200, which was the highest of all the semis I looked at. They come in huge sizes as well, and should be available through normal tyre retailers as opposed to race tyre distributers.

Or - you could work on the operator headspace of the bio-organic traction control component of the car. But that would be no fun.

I'm running Sumitomo HTR Z III's. Very happy with them. Great grip wet and dry. Nice and quiet.....and cheap!

ok. im the guy with the 350rwkw supra. basically running 255 advan neova's ad07's i cant get grip in 4th when i just put my foot down. I have been drifting on these tyre and even at full lock, spinning at top of 3rd i have enough traction to push me towards to apex every time. but that doesnt help my straight line traction. thats where throttle control comes on. the bridgestone s03's in 275's had bugger all traction to.
Your better off learning to control your right foot better.
Had 225/50/16 semi slicks on a a70 with 250rwkws and without having throttle control you could spin the rears just hitting boost in 3rd aswell.
learn how to drive. or get less power. or better yet... buy a excel and have this as your dyno queen.

people saying get semi slicks and slicks is just a waste of time, every day driving will kill these within 5k kms anyway and for the cost its not worth it.

well... there you go boys and girls. Heaps of power through just TWO wheels - - - its never going to be easy.

my friend has 400RWKW in his r32 GTR (to4z) and that thing spins all 4 wheels which can be interesting to say the least.

My old r33 was pushing out 375rwkw and i was running Hankook Ventus RS2's there are 11 variants but the most expensive and they held up very well with the power. Specs were 285/35/18 and i would seriously recommend them for that power and see how you go. I had them at around 29psi and yeah was very happy with them. Only thing is they wear out quite quick, about 11,000Km back then i recall which i mean for the grip it gives it very reasonable.
