Hi Guys,
I have done a search to no avail. I was driving through a roundabout on Friday and my Soarer Just stopped. It would turn over but would not fire.
I had it towed home and tried to start it the next day - it fired up chugged a little bit then conked out again. I suspect the fuel filter, which I will be changing today, but I am not confident. I tried the B+ Fp trick to no avail thinking it may be the fuel pump ecu playing up.
You guys got any more ideas?
I was running a little low on fuel (about 10 litres) After it would not start I added another 10-15 litres I had in a jerry can to no avail either. I also noticed I can not get anything up on the display by pressing the fuel button either. Or does this only work when the car is running?

It could be your igniter.

Check if you have spark.

Well I ran diagnostics - no fault, changed the fuel filter - still got a red arm from the fuel!
It still wont start.'
I have to do a search now on how to see if I have spark...............
Where is the igniter by the way?

igniter it is on the left strut tower.

so it cranks but not start. and happend all of a sudden, check your fuses, like all of them, in the engine bay, and in the drivers foot well.. also check to make sure the is power at the postive terminal at the alternator. if not your alt fuse has blown, i have seen this twice in these cars.

then get back to us.

just check to make sure your getting power to the pump, the disconnect a fuel line near engine, you will need a second person for this. get them to watch it, best place it into a bucket or something, and turn car on, it fuel comes out pump is all good. well the best way of checking it with out a proper gauge to fit in the line, which i dont think you would have... and yeah

Thanks for the tips - Im off work today to check this out. Yeah it just stopped when I was driving, It hasnt started since.... It did splutter once for a few seconds but I couldn't keep it going.
By the way I searched for hours last night - I could not find anything on how to check if you have spark, anyone point me in the right direction?
I do have Jeffs Soarer Bible, but I can only find one page as to where the plugs are located ( In Japanese), not how to remove them or check spark
I have removed the top cover plate. Do I just remove the 2 screws around the connection on each, and the plugs are underneath? Sorry for the dumb questions - Its not like my old HQ V8 thats for sure.
Thanks in Advance

I have checked the fuses, timing belt is still intact, alternator is not seized. Still unsure how to test igniter. Any pointers would be great.
Going through Bible for tips as we speak.

Well I have spark, I have 12V at the pump in the boot, I removed fuel line close to the injectors on the battery side, turned it over and nothing came out! I sure hope the fuel pump Daniel's sending me fixes it.

Hi All,
It was the fuel pump after all! Thanks to everybody for their input, especially Daniel who sent me up a replacement pump. Now I am confident I can fix my passenger electric window next after trawling through the forums!
Thanks again.
