Hi,

My car has this weird trait that has started happening lately;

When its very wet and the road is glazed with water my car sometimes stutters or makes this weird knocking noise which leads to losing power and I have to apply more throttle to keep up speed.

The sound of the engine is changed when this happens and there is vibrations coming up from under the engine.

It sounds like its coming from under the engine to the left hand side.

It comes and goes in the heavy wet but is fine in mildly wet conditions.

Its not the air filter as I checked it and it was bone dry.

Could it be something to with leads or something?

I had a MA70 supra with 7MGTE, EVERY TIME IT RAInED it would miss fire, have trouble starting and idle rough....after numerous fault finding turned out to be the AFM, the humidity (moisture) was getting in. Hope it helps....

Im going to Toyota to get the fault codes checked when my TRD t/stat goes in.

The plastic tray is not fitted.

I had a new motor put in last year and I the mechanic didnt put the plastic tray back on.

I didnt even realise it was missing till recently. dodgy buggers.

So I guess I should get one of the trays from a wreck hey.

Thanks for the replies.
