been looking around for a replacement panel filter, ive done the BFI and my airfilter is dirty so id prefer to replace it.
So so far its 54 for standard OEM toyota filter from castle hill 120ish from castle hill for a TRD one Or 80 shipped for a HKS panel filter from nengun.
Is the TRD really that much better? Worth over twice the price? Or should i just get OEM one?

nah its a dry filter, heres a description of there site
HKS’ high-performance Super Hybrid Filters are a direct replacement for OE panel filters when a factory airbox is required or preferred. Super Hybrid Filters features a 3-layer dry-type filter. The filter element is bonded to a flexible nylon frame and offers a price-friendly performance alternative to a full intake system.

The only real advantage I can see with the TRD one, is it is cleanable, so it is a one off spend.
There was an article on one of these Soarer forums, along with some testing that showed a new factory filter flowed better, and cleaned better than the competition. It may have been a Peter Scott article or post, but don't quote me.
I run the TRD one in the road car, and a boxed HKS super dooper hyper ultra pod (or something!) in the track car.

The factory Denso filter is great. I'm surprised its $54 in Tasmania, as thats only about what it costs here in Kiwi $'s - just bought one a couple of weeks ago.

i had a panel k&n on mine before i went single turbo and it worked fine and very easily cleaned. i heard also the oem ones flow just as good but you cant really clean them
Does anyone know the part number for a K&N Air filter? If i can get a part number I may be able to get them cheap. by the way I got a standard Air Filter 2 days ago for $40
