extreme blowby? The motors only a fresh rebuild isnt it? The only thing that could be causing the dipstick to eject is high pressure within the crankcase, so you have a ventilation problem somewhere, if it has bad blowby this would contribute to it quite largly. If you remove the oil cap when idling, is there alot of air pulsing out of it?

no rebuild only has 130k on it just stripped everything and polished... at moment i cant run it as the coil plugs have also crumbled so its running on 4cyl so im really annoyed with it at the moment.. im thinking of putting a plug on the pcv to stop boost pressure getting to it but make it go over to the catchcan.. i have no kinks in catch can line as its all braid..

aaron, most likely cause is the pcv valve on the left rocker cover next to the plenum, stuck oepn and letting boost into engine.. cheers

do a compression test, will greatly help in eliminating or confirming the problem.

pcv rattles. i cleaned it out when i polished the cam covers. disconnetced pcv hose and blocked it off... hit 12psi after warmed and here a hissing noise pull over and there is oil all over my engine bay again and dipstick is sitting about an inch up.. sooo... any ideas going to see how much money i have to get a compression gauge as my work wont let me use theirs. thinking either: head gasket piston ring/ score or mark in bore(sat still for 10 months waiting for body and paint work to be done) valve stem or stem seals cracked head or block any other ideas let me know as depending on what it is per money i may sell the parts out and go a 2j

your not serious? your work wont let you use the compression guage? Thats BS geez. Really the only thing it is is large ammounts of positive pressure within the crank case. So its getting in there somewhere, but where is another question. Main area that it would be would be excessive blowby. But yeah its hard to say mate, sorry i cant help you more but im stumped without actually physically playing with it. Wheres your breather going from the LHS cam cover? If its going into a catch can, try venting it to atmosphere (yes illegal but for test purposes) If its going into a catch can it may have a blockage somewhere maybe.

My money says Headgasket ... Did the same thing years ago in a NA 4l falcon ... Blew the dipstick, half the coolant and all the oil all over the engine bay ! I didnt realise until i came to a set of lights and car stalled ! However, we parked it, Chemi weld in it over night, came back drove it home, all good, lol . But that was just to get it home. Pulled it out and rebuilt it . It had blown 2 cylinders straight into both oil + water galleries. Motor had 220,000 on it and over 250 1/4 passes , so i think it did ok,hehe. Might be worth ditchin the 1j and just throwin a 1.5j in there ?

Still could be the PCV valve - remember they are a two stage valve, part open (which is the rattle) and fully open (which is on the spring). If the spring is rooted and the valve won't fully open under WOT, then it could be the cause of your problem still.

You have just been messing with the PCV system, and your car is now exhibiting textbook symptoms of a messed up PCV system. And you are thinking it is a head gasket. What did you think was going to happen when you blocked off your PCV hose? The intake needs to be sucking air out of your crank case. You need to make sure that really is happening. I suspect you have hooked the hose back up to the wrong spot and you are putting boost to your PCV, or the valve is backwards, or something else like that.

ok what i done was disconnected hose and blocked it off on the intake manifold and had the pcv venting to air. the other side i had disconnected aswell venting to atmosphere.. so none of that should have been getting any boost into it or blocked by a restriction.. the pipe it connects to on hte intake was a different size and was just a fitting there was no valve on it.. ill order another pcv but want to get a compression gauge to sort out that part... the bloody thing is also making a intermittant knock noise like a bearing is ont its way out at idle... so at the moment im just thinking if the motor is worth saving.

PCV "venting to air" is not good enough. You need a vacuum actively sucking on it or you will blow your dipstick out. Exact same thing happens on most any motor. Guys with small blocks complain about it and you look under the hood - sure enough - little air filter breather on each valve cover and no PCV routed to vac. Keep it up long enough and you will blow out your front main seal.

yeah thats what i thought too but its only vacuum at idle.. i dont have the issue at idle its only blowing out when i hit boost so thats why im thinking more rings or headgasket. cause i have my gear shifter boot surround off i can hear when it does it and its under boost after a few seconds just start to hear a pshhhhhh from the engine bay and pull over and its out and oil everywhere.. i am only running 12psi so its not like im overboosting it. my mate has a cylinder leakage tester so ill take some cooler piping and the oil cap off and see if there is any leaks. and also a compression test see if any are down... to get out of trouble may tie dipstick down or hook a spring on it till i can figure out what it is and sort out what im going to do. been talking with powertune and they have said if i decide to they will help me out with a 2j setup and ill part out my 1j stuff. but will be after a while as ill have to save up and prob sell some other stuff i dont need
