hey i got a problem with my soarer i dont know if u have any idea that would help, whenever the car is cold it will not idle, i have to keep my foot on the gas for a min or so then it will idle, what could be the problem? and also there is a sensor at the back of the intake manifold with a vacume hose on it, whats that and what does it do? i am just wondering because i recently did a single turbo conversion and that hose has not been connected yet, it is to be connected just after the air cleaner on the inlet pipe.

I took it out and thoroughly cleaned it with WD40 put it back and the same thing again
do i need something stronger than WD40? i also find that if it dies about 2 or more times during a cold start it gets flooded and then i would have to pull theefi relay and crank it a lil then put it back and it will start again, but it just seems like i am getting alot of gas down at cold start.

Jeff, no they dont,

When its cold, and with the iscv hose sitting in the open like that, you should hear it sucking in air. It will be loud on startup until the engine warms up

i honestly think its the icv but dont have one to swap it out and see what it does or even knows how to clean it, other than that i wonder about my emanage settings but i dont think that is something that changes on its own like that, since it was fine a few months ago.

This is for the V8, but the principle should be the same.

this is strange, i changed the icv the car now idles at 2000 rpm and even when hot it did not go down it only does if i plug that hose going to it is there a ecu that controle the icv motion? i dont know what els to try , the fuel pump is bridged to work constantly by previous owner my guess is that it failed, so i know thats not the problem, also if i turn on my ac the car idles down almost stalling, with the hose plugged,

i tested my old one that i took off and its working so i guess i will put it back on but dont know where to look next, is there another unit that powers the icv? or another unit that ups the idle on cold start or even when the ac is turned on?

problem solved, my electrician found a efi fuse that was poped and after replacing it idle valve now works, the fuel pump controler is dead and he is now gona use the oil light wire to activate a relay for the fuel pump, cause the way it is now its just running off ignition power.

Oil light wire? That doesn't make any sense.. There is a way to have a relay wired up to the battery/ignition so that the pump is always run at 12volts. Pretty common mod, a search should come up with something :-)
