Hey guys i dropped the coolant the other day and did a quick half assed flush at my mates shop. Anyway after getting the coolant done the next morning on start up i get a weird rattling noise/also like the belts slipping. The noise goes away after 20mins of driving but it has me stumped what it could be after only dropping the coolant. Also how long should the car take on idle for the temp to get warm enough to open the termostat. I had the car running for 15mins roughly and the thermostat hadnt opened yet.
Main issue is getting this rattling/slipping noise sorted as it has me worried.

Oh yeah from the sound of it the location is somewhere around where the cam cover is. Hard to hear as on idle its very faint so increasing the revs drones it out.

Harmonic balancer? Mine just gave up the ghost - had a warning in the morning when I heard a sqeal like the accessory belt slipping. Turns out it was the balancer spinning inside the pulley.

When you refilled the radiator did you disconnect the rear top heater hose and fill it with coolant until it came out that hose? - If not Air lock is very possible - Keep checking coolant level. Other than that maybe changing your coolant was the last straw for your water pump? A flush may have dislodged part of a blade internally. God luck anyway I hope it is something simple
