throttle body was off a while back when i polished it, all the passages and main butterfly area were carby cleaned and washed.

Il check the base idle mate, allthough i dont think it would be that as it was intermitant for a while before it completely stopped idling up.

What terminals do i bridge?

i think its FP and something?

I didn't read your post carefully enough as i didn't realise that it was intermitant .. To do the diagnostic / base idle, bridge the E1 & TE1 terminals under the bonnet ..

Regards ..

Problem solved yet Scott? Mines doing this too, AND a few other weird things. It starts as if I've just reset the ECU and also has a funny misfire as if it's not getting enough fuel, but, I can smell fuel.

Been through 3 iscv's, 3 ECU's, 2 o2 sensors, bypassed the Fuel ECU, set of second hand coilpacks, new plugs but still stumped. So sick of it. Waiting to see if anyone has a fuelpump, tps or ignitor next... hate the electrical errors on these things.

Scott make sure the PCV is not blocked and also check if the Air Temp Sensor on the intake manifold is working correctly, you can do this through EMU just log the air temp, the sensor is located just forward of the ISCV.

just installed brand new PCV valve, the updated version like 1 week ago haha.

Il check the airtemp mate, i had a look at it while i was spending time on the car and it seemed fine.

What should i look for when i log it? Should it have a base voltage at idle? And should it increase or decrease as intake temps rise?

cold start valve? Im assumnig you have a UZZ not a JZZ.

As the JZs just adjust the duty cycle of the injectors and adjust timing for cold start

Funny that, wasn't January, or it may have December, that there was a blue moon? (2 full moons in the same month).

The problem you described in the original thread sounds like An Intermittent problem with the IACV, however on hotter days it's normal to have a lower idle temp when cold but it shouldn't start up at 800RPM.

Like I mentioned earlier, have you tried another ECU?
