ok i changed my water pump and timming belt and now my engine wont rev over 2000 rpm i done the fault code check and i came up with fault codes 14 and 41 which as far as i can work out is ignition module and throttle body sensor but both have nothing to do with the timming belt i did leave the bonnet up for a week while i got the parts and a bit of rain may have blown in my car port but other then that i cant figuer it out i sprayed a whole heap of contact cleaner in these parts but still no go has anyone had this problem before???

I removed the cam cover and lined the marks up on the cams and it lines up with TDC on the crank pully spot on so i think thats the prob

another thing i just remembered i did wash the oil leaks underneath the engine but the codes it throws is sensors on top of the engine (tps and ign module) is there any other sensors that may cause these codes to occur???????

Ignition module can be Igniter and Ecu . Try swapping in another ECU or igniter if you can .

Also try checking the vacuum line on the Map Sensor as that will have the same symptoms .

Dodgy coil packs or Ecu or Fuel pump ecu . Search for Fuel pump Ecu bypass and try that next time it stalls .

Doesnt sound like f/p ecu Dan.......

When fuel pump ecu goes the car turns off itself as soon as you turn it on. It doesnt run rough or lumpy.

Also as soon as you start it and hold the throttle open it will stay on over 2000rpm.

Could this be crank angle sensor or something?

you may have unplugged two connectors to remove the top thermostat housing to remove the water pump, not sure what they are, temp sensor? but maybe they bumped loose? long shot.. other than that i agree with Aka, crank angle sensor.
