ok i have searched high and low for a guide and come up with nothing, i found a good guide on the 2j here.

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=70974&page=4

but when his just pops off, mine comes off but there are two bunches of wireing that go through two sets of runners, so my manifold is just hanging there now.

is there clips ive missed or does removing the intake manifold on a 1j require me to unplug every sensor on the whole motor, as it seems the wiring loom comes off with it.

please in need of help here.

p.s. reason for taking manifold off is for polishing as the turbos are off my car for a few days i thought now is a good time, ha!

the plastic loom carrier is held on by 1 or 2 bolts onto the manifold, remove them and the manifold slips out

yup those are undone.

my problem is that there are two bunches of wires running between 2>3 and 3>4, do i have to undo everything they are connected to or is there a clip inside the plastic cover?

it was a royal pain in the neck to get off and now its off and hanging, undoing all the conecors to remove the manifold would be even more of a headache, boy am i looking forward to putting it all back together.

hell ive even thought pulling the motor would have been easier....

yeah ive given up and put it back on, as i get my turbos back tomorrow and need the car running tomorrow arfternoon.

ill be hunting someone who has upgraded and buying their manifold and polishing that up, then get a few more bits, ala highstall, injectors, maybe some engine bay paint and pull the lot out and do it all at once.

just looks a lil wonky, everything mirror polished except the intake haha!

the 2j guide made it look not that hard as they run the wires differantly.

cheers for the help guys.

yeah 1j intake manifold is a bastard. have to take all the wiring harness off that side of the motor. you also have to take off your gearbox wiring. and when you have the abs module in the passenger corner makes it even more difficult to get it all off.

haha yeah i know how that feels. Looking at the 2j i have now looks so much easier as the lower runner is longer so easier to get to the bolts for it. It got to a point with mine i thought stuff it ill do the manual conversion at the same time make it easier lol
