Hey Guys, I had it set to 2.10 for quite some time but then I thought I'd change it to something a lot shorter like 1.20. I did this because I was only doing short trips to the train station from my house and its mainly traffic in the morning anyway. What should I set it to?? Am I anywhere near what it should be??

If you drive conservatively for the last few minutes of your trip you shouldn't need it going any longer then one minute max.

If you drive normally you don't need to idle it at all. If you thrash your car an inch to the driveway then you require a turbo timer.

^ agree Boris but i leave mine on auto and ranges from 0 to 1.20 minutes depending on how hard the car has been driven

no one drives like a maniac to there driveway, ive happily been running 18 psi on my turbos for the last 6 months and 14 for 6 months prior to that with the timer set at 30 seconds, no problems so far Its all it needs unless your running on a racetrack, all your doing is heatsoaking the motor leaving it idling,

5 minutes to give it that full effect of "No-one is in the car, but the car is still running", or the "Are you going to turn off your car?" effect. 30 seconds daily; 1 minute if driven hard.

Drove my previous car heaps without a turbo timer for 2 or 3 years even bit of a thrashing, no problems at all. Previous owner had it 5+ Years, no turbo timer. No problems. Can be useful in some older cars with only oil cooled turbos.

yeah, I don't have one either, if you just cruise for the last 2-3 mins, then I reckon that's the same as idling for 2-3 mins. Probably better as your getting air moving through the engine bay. I had one on my old Soarer, but I found myself just hitting the cancel button rather than letting it run. Probably needed if you hit full boost turning into your street.

If you're like me and 90% of your driving is <3000 rpm then you'd be fine with it off. I have it off during the week and auto for the weekend. Hill climbs on auto used to bring it to 4mins but as you steady out doing a long stretch of 80kph on flat you end up back at 1:10-1:20 or something if that.. It's not necessary just for a trip to the shops or a station. You're not hitting 5000+rpm and then instantly turning off the engine.

just install a two way pager alarm with remote start and built in turbo timer then you can just turn it on/off using the remote whenever you want.

Hehe , people dont understand how many km's you can rack up when a delivery driver . I work for Star Track Express , just as a local driver though , so nothing like those km's . But its easy to do when covering the miles , as a mate of mine found out now that he contracts up near Coffs

2.30 or 3 minutes if driven hard, in saying that I might opt for the 1 - 1.30 mark haha considering their only stockers
