hi guys as the title states i am getting an oil pressure warning. ok here's what happened i put an oil filter re-location kit on about 6000k's ago and the other day one of the hoses burst and i got the oil pressure warning i drove it home (no more than 2 mins) and changed the hose and oil ect but now i have the warning constantly. does any one have any idea why this might have happened?

2 minutes running with out oil pressure is not a good thing, i personally would have been freaking out & shutting the motor down after a matter of seconds ...
Hopefully for your sake you might be lucky, but there is a good chance that you have flogged out the engine bearings & maybe damaged the crank etc which has now given you very excessive bearing clearances & hence now no oil pressure ..
You will need to hook up an External Master oil pressure gauge & see what the actual readings are ... The oil light in most car's will come on when the oil pressure is below 4 psi ...

It's the running out of oil PRESSURE that is the problem. Means engine parts aren't suspended on their oil film, and the metal bits rub against each other.
This makes them wear very rapidly. When they wear the gap gets bigger between them. This big gap now just lets all the oil out and the pump cant flow enough oil to maintain pressure.
At a guess, pressure should be around 20 psi at idle and up to around 50 at revs.

Oh mate that's not too good at all. Stupid question but.. has the sump plug come loose?
Did you even read the original question.....
Only thing left matthew is to connect an oil pressure guage and see if there is pressure there. If so then it could be a faulty pressure switch. If not then your engine is fubared.
Interestingly enough an engine will run for a lot longer without oil than it will without coolant.

Yes I did, he says the oil hose popped. Then said he had changed the hose. A couple posts later read that there was a couple liters of oil on his driveway, so I figured this was AFTER he had changed the hose.
I've had the sump plug rattle loose before (no washer at the time) which is why I mentioned it.

Another dumb question, but did you make sure the hoses were the right way round on the relocator? There's an 'out' on the block piece which must go to the 'in' on the filter holder piece and visa versa.
