a boost cut defender doesn't go on the vacuum line- it works on the wire that carries the signal from the map sensor to the ecu.Don't play with unless you know what you are doing.you can/will damage the motor...

blake you are correct in some regards but incorect in others.

Some manufacturers have released what is basically a boost tee that goes in them map line of a map sensored car. What this does is bleed off small ammounts of air to trick the map sensor into thinking there is say only 13.6psi in the manifolds.

Mate had this on his old JZA70 and never had a problem, but personally i would get a emanage or the lines and get it tuned as the more boost you push with a FCD the leaner the fuel mixtures will get as the ECU is still only seeing 13.6psi

Scott,I have heard of people doing this, but it is fraught with peril. Alters the whole map.

my mates didnt bleed until it reaches the preset pressure then bleeds off, it dosnt bleed throughout the revs and boost. Guess you could call it a pressure relief valve.

For a cheap and easy option, yes it works, personally i would get some management and do it right the first time, i bought a emanage ultimate for this reason.

I would definately get some sort of aftermarket management for a single turbo, poor motor :-(

Running a big single turbo on high boost with a stock ECU is asking for trouble as the stock ECU is programmed to run smaller turbos with different power delivery requiring different fuel and timing through the revs.

Single turbo warrants more tunability, E-Manage is what you need.

If auto then yes.. Emanage is what you need..
If manual go for Haltec .. Or standalone ECU..
I'm running a piggyback ECU(Powermod) on a Mine's manual ECU..
What injectors have you got in..? If the stockies then you will need to atleast get 440cc's or above.. Depending on what you want to acheive..
What size single turbo we talking about..?
