Take a pic of the jap writing and then look up the table on here to see what it means.

Meanwhile try shoving a wire in between the ports labelled FP and B+ in the diagnostics port and see if that fixes it

Yeah, it could be the Fuel Pump ECU as Austen has mentioned.

It could also be the ISCV stuck shut.
Does it drive ok once you finally get it going?

Yeah my ISCV caused similar problems when it was gunked up, didn't fix the problem completely until I replaced that check valve diaphragm. I was surprised when the new one arrived and it was orange haha!

Yeah, I guess the easiest way to check would be to take off the intake line that runs from the iscv into the intake, start the car up a see if its sucking plenty of air at idle.

Fuel Pump ECU. easy way to confirm if it is and wont cost anything.

Do a search on here for fuel pump ecu and bridging wires in diagnostics port (FP & B+)

ISCV's occasionally come up on ebay.. have you tried bridging the fuel pump pins in the diagnostics port yet? It's really cheap!

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_199704_TOYOTA_SOARER_JZZ30-ACPVZ_2211.2.html?hl=22270

OEM Part #22270-46070

Are you talking about aftermarket or OEM Austen?

Try what Rob suggested first Veronica.

Part number 25748-88400 is the check valve I was referring to, it sits in between the ISCV and the plenum, the rubber diaphragm on mine was perished and allowed air to pass freely both ways, leaking boost and giving me a bad idle, stuttering problems, stalling etc.

Veronica, I would bridge the pins first, as it's free. 99percent of the time this fixes it.

Then I would suggest what Rob has said.

Then I would inspect that valve I was talking about, its easy, remove two bolts, one hose and convince it with foul language and she'll come off.

Also, if you have a Fuel Cut defender installed, I'd disconnect it to see if that is causing a problem.
