Well there is still water in the oil so you have to drop the oil to see if it's worked.

Yes and if it's worked the oil shouldn't get milky again.

Most likely. If the oil cap looks like a chocolate milkshake then you've got BHG. PITA to fix but can be done at home.

Great stuff Ty. Now just save up quick and maybe think about taking this opportunity to do a 1.5j conversion.

2JZ bottom end with 1J head, get the extra gains of the .5 extra capacity and still retain your 1JZ headgear, etc.

I was under the impression that you would need a 2JZ box because it wouldn't bolt up to the 1JZ box?

1JZ and 2JZ bellhousings are the same, R154s bolt straight up to 2Js and 1Js no problem.

With the autos though pretty certain they bolt straight up, only thing i can think of being different is the torque converter and flex plate.

1.5JZ isnt quite as simple as just slapping the head on.

The oil feed to the head needs to be welded up and drilled at a slight angle to line up with the 2J block, you need the 2JZ water pipe that goes between the waterpump rear housing and top coolant pipe.

2JZ timing belt, and a few other things i cant think of at the moment
