Hey guys, just need a little help, i have just pulled the water pump off my soarer, looking to replace, options are a full front and read pump section at driftmotion for 150 US + around 50 US for shipping, or Castle Hill, still waiting on their price, i have read around 140ish mark, but that is only the front pump section i believe.

My pump was sealed together with gaskets and orange gasket goo.

and on the block

Now where the Block O Ring joins the rear pump assembly, there is a bit of corrosion and pitting, if i take the Castle hill option and get the front assembly, should i be using sealant again, especially on the pitted areas?
If i get the whole new housing, should i be using sealant anyway? If so, what am i looking for, i will buy some Asap.

Obviously i have the required seals and O Rings hiding here somewhere, when i get them down to the garage im sure they will size match pretty easy.

Upon reassembly, should i go ahead and do as the previous mechanic did, gasket goo crap on ever seal, engine block, that double O Ring joiner pipe, the hard water line as shown above, and i have no doubt the thermostat as well, i haven't opened it up yet.

Thanks for all your help.

I didn't use any gasket goo at all.
Used new o rings and a new water pump gasket and same for the thermostat. just make sure everything is clean.
