That's what some people ask and say some say it stuff's up the turbo other say its just noise well there all wrong
Flutter is air bouncing back and forward from the turbos the makes this sound which is call'd compression surges
there have been no record of compression surges stuffing up turbos no one knows what or how it would stuff up the turbos people have been running compression surges and there turbos are still running strong if anyone have anything to say or add to this feel free to add things about compression surges if i've miss'd anything let me know cheers guys

It's compressor surge not compression surge, at least find out the proper name before you go making ill informed statements like you have. Have a read of the link below it's a good description of how it all works. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28060

I run a stock bov blocked off on my car and it flutters a little bit, no where near as loud or long as that though. I think it sounds better than any atmo venting bov and its free and you wont get defected for it.

Alot of people get 'flutter'from either blocking off or removing their bov and theres no where for the excess boost to go. But most of you would already know that.

Comp surge can cause damages to a turbocharger which is why most turbo cars are fitted with some sort of recirculation valve.
I've rebuilt 2x XR6 GT3582s span shafts inside comp wheel due to comp surge. Because the owner wanted to hear the flatter.
In a bush bearing setup, surge pressure forces comp wheel to spin towards turbine side while cancellation pressure (oil pressure and exhaust manifold pressure) are unpressent / Low. Leave you with a worned thrust bearing at the cold side through time. Resulting shaft play.

Chris just genuine hks so off their website or ebay man. 50 delivered. And ya just pull the bov nossle apart and swap em over. What matt said is correct. Do u just have the standard one? (High pitched release)
Tao is right u need some sort of release for your excess boost. Where is to gonna go when the throttle is released?
