hi everyone ive encountered a problem with my soarer, it seems to be blowing white smoke when idling for 2mins+, its fine on startup revs are normal, once its heading towards the middle operating temp it starts to revs choke a bit but not noticeably once its warmed up the revs go up and down but not enough to move the rev needle.(led)
any ideas?

hmmm it doesn't seem to make a difference sticking it or not if it idles for more than 2mins onwards white smoke increases and increases if left for too long then give a little rev it blows HEAPS lol then clears up

white smoke on other vehicles is usually transmission fluid burning from a vacume modulator in the trans that has a hole in the diaphragm. Soarers don't have a modulator but they have a vacume line feeding down to the power steering pump. Might be worth pulling the 2 vacume hoses off to have a look if there is any signs of oil in them

From my experience white smoke (if it's not just condensation) is usually a blown head gasket.

Most likely.

My build thread
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/51875/298867.html?1280370671

Some very useful info there. I had a blown head gasket, but I suspected this from the get-go.

Check it out and let me know how you go
