As per the title, I saw this Soarer recently with these turbos that have been ceramic coated and are marked Garrett. No other markings.

They look substantially bigger than the stocko turbos, but I could be wrong.
Some help would be appreciated. Cheers

Interesting responses so far. How hard is it to pull the the turbos off? If they were off, would you fellas be able to tell any better?

Thing is, it sorta looks factory, but when you look harder and closer, it's clear that it's far from stock, and will go ALOT harder.

Okay, abit more info. Garret is on the exhaust side, and it says HKS on the intake side. So it could be HKS T3G's?

I certainly wouldn't mind something like this Rob.

Trouble is finding a car with these goodies attached at a price that dosn't break the bank. I like the remote oil filter too. This particular car has lots of really nice stuff on it. Someone has thrown large piles of money on this car.

Anyway, are these T3G's any good on a 1JZ? Whats the spool time like? (I know it depends on the other hardware in the engine) This particular car has an adj cam gear, and some lightened flywheel pullys. What sort of power range would one be looking at with these turbos in place, and say an E-manage ultimate? 250 - 300rwkw?

i have a set, those ARE t3g's.

T3G's are easy as piss to work on, my last effort was 2.5hours from driving into the garage to having them on the floor.

full boost 3500ish (17psi, with ex cam -6 / crap tune) sits just off boost on the highway.

power ive read mostly 320~rwkw max

hope that helps

Haha thanks for the responses guys, this helps alot!

Least the turbos don't have to come off now to figure out what they are.

response 3500rpm? thought they would be a bit better than that. My garrett single has 18psi with camgears set at 0degrees at 3500 :-)

I said "ish", as too be honest I don't really look under the radio at the boost gauge when on the noise very often, its been ages since I checked it.

a single garrett say gt35 with a small rear housing will have very similar response as you say, but its obvious to Mr.Plod if they open the bonnet :-)

one good thing from my reading, and i might do, is that gt25/gt28's bolt up to both the manifolds and the dump apparently :-)

Marc, that would be nice having the stock look if it bolts straight up to the manifolds and dump.

In Vic, it sucks if you have a single turbo and Mr plod looks under the bonnet. 3,500rpm isn't too bad for boost to come on, I could deal with that, probably not 4,5 though for a streetable car.

25/28s wont bolt straight up, there 4 bolt flanges, not the toyota specific 3 bolt.

Come down tassie, never look under the hood unless you make it obvious :-)

scott, t3g's dont use the toyota exhaust manifolds, they use two t3 manifolds, there's some pics of them in my build thread here if your interested.

to make the 25/28s look stock the hard bit would be cutting and flanging the intake piping to match, but that wouldnt be too hard.

i cant wait to get mine running right to get a good tune, as im sure that will help them come on boost even better etc.

Spot on Marc, if you look closley they don't use the toyota manifolds. But the intake piping looks kinda stock. Marc, I will have to see your car sometime mate.

gt12s, my mate had a pair of them on a charade, when looking at them i noticed the flanges were almost identicle to the ct12s and wondered if they were a direct replacement..guess this answers the question
