I replaced the caps and it didn't fix the problem. Spent $50 on a replacement ecu and the problem was gone

Samuel , Pretty sure i mentioned Ecu ? Hehe .

Guess i should open a workshop ? All he did was probably reset the Ecu , hence it worked for 1 day then played up again .

Least it is fixed now :-)

$325 to replace a fuel filter and TPS WTF???

2nd hand TPS $25
That works out at $75.00 per screw/nut as Its only 2 screws to remove tps and 2 nuts for the fuel filter and it still didn't fix the problem! I would be requesting a partial refund at least.

How about the import wrecker that quoted mt $800 for a second hand ECU?
Some better news - I started it this morning and ran like a top but I'm still suspicious.

One of the things that improved my 2250 problem was replacing the coil clips. when they are old brittle and cracked they can effect the engine management. i think the parts are about $12 each. if yours are brittle maybe replace the lot for something cheaper to try. from memory the part is the same as one that goes in the prado high mount brake light, but you can get a part number off them. and you DO NOT need to buy an entire loom as I was told first off by toyota
