i dont know what it is. it happens only when cold. its light blueish/white smoke, and lots of it. get in start car up, wait couple minutes for the idle to calm down, back to 700rpm. chuck a ewe-ee (no jokes about Don) plant foot and smoke pours out. lots of it. slow down at t junction. no smoke coming out. turn right give it a bit of stick and smoke again. drive for about 5 minutes and then theres no smoke, doesnt smoke when warm. only when cold.
There is (to me anyway, dad reckons its ok) a bit of a knock in the engine, tapping, i think one of the tappets is a bit iffy. Any help much appreciated.

sam, id be thinking that if the heavier weight oil didnt fix your problem then its probably wont be the valve stem seals, it could be leaky turbos. my girls soarer had the same problem and so did i. mine fixed itself with a heavier weight oil, but my girls didnt. i got the turbos and hoses looked at the it was the lower turbo that was the problem.
