Well the latest problem with my TT is a 'minor' coolant leak from one of the front turbo lines. Small but annoying.
The only way it seems I can get to the lines to fix the leaky gasket (or whatever it is ) is to remove the turbo assembly.
Before I do this does anyone know if these lines are really necessary?
Can I just disconnect them and block them off?
Sure would save a lot of hassle.

Thanks Dan, well looks like I'm spending tomorrow pulling the turbo unit off.

Can you try get at the water connection without pulling the turbo off, and then putting another gasket on or a bit of RTV Silicon on there?

Yep, that's what I did. Had to pull everything off except the turbo itself. With everything out of the way I could get at the lower nut holding the lines on, just.
Looked like someone had attempted a repair here in the past. They had used silicone but not removed all of the old gasket, left just enough to cause me a problem.
The moral of the story is, make sure you scrape off every trace of the old gasket unless you want the leak to resurrect.
