I just went down to get some fuel, the car was fine, but on my way home I go to accelerate & all the car would do is rev up & down, & would not go past 30kmph.

The car was fine yesterday & has been for a while now ! So, I don't know where to start. I checked all of my vacuum hoses, inter cooler piping, intake & nothing.

Could it be -

- Massive leak ?
- Transmission ?
- Blocked exhaust ?
- Spark plugs ?
- Coil packs ?

Any help is appreciated !

Hey mate, fluid level is fine. However a couple of days a go I started seeing the O/D light flash again, it has not done that in months. I have changed the solenoids once before due to another problem it once had. It didn't flash today, just experienced this non-drivable state.

Haha, if that's the case Adam, I must be in hell !

It has been fine for a long time, gear changes have been smooth & no drama's in general. It was perfect last night, but eh, wasn't hoping for this.

Mine drove fine for years... got me home on a Friday evening. Went to go somewhere on Sunday morning and could hardly get up the hill at the end of my street.

Pain in the ass !

What did you end up doing ?

Because this is my 3rd car that's had auto failures, I'm really considering a loan for a conversion.

try disconnecting the wires that goto the trans (not the ones that goto the n/start switch (two big black with white trace wires)and then shift it manually with the T-bar.

you should be able to shift it 1st, 2nd, 4th

check the solenoids on the valve body

most of the time its something small like a solenoid that fails and then people try to drive it around in 4th gear cooking the out of the trans and killing it fully!

So I got a chance today after work to spend some time on the car, anyway after disconnecting the TPS, the problem went away. Luckily enough I have a spare one which I will replace it with until I buy new to play it safe.

I found this PDF file while searching too on here -
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/282/TPS-163383.pdf

And thanks Allan. Luckily enough I have already replaced my solenoids at one stage.

Wasn't the TPS either, after starting it the day after & encountering the same problem.

So I replaced the fuel pump & problem solved. (Walbro GSS341) I have my daily back, thank the sweet lord !

Okay, so today after work I start the car & it's doing the same thing all over again.. after days of running good, & the idle is sitting on 300rpm, So I disconnect the TPS, problem does go away & the car revs out when revved, but I have no boost or power, even with my foot to the floor. Is that due to the TPS being disconnected ?

Driving me absolutely insane.

Could my stock BOV be in need of replacing ?
I cannot check my Cat either for blockages, as it's all welded together, no flanges.

If I get a chance tonight I'd like to check the exhaust for any leaks, also give the leak test with a cap with a hole in it under the hood, & replace the TPS with a spare used one I have..

Yet now, I took the car around the block & it's completely fine ?? TPS connected, idling good. Maybe fuel still running through the lines ?

I go away this week, & have planned either way to replace the coils when I get back, to upgrade the 20 year olds/eliminate another problem area.

My plans have changed a lot since I first bought it, from power in mind, now to reliability.
