well have a 91 tt soarer, about 3 months ago car started to smoke realy bad. turns out to be valve seal ( or what ever they are call).
was smoking very very bad and the seals where stuff,( real bad) stuid me got the valve seal done with out taking the head off.
now 3 months on i still have not driving the car its sitting in carport still smoking, first i thought it was the turbos that went.
Last week took it in to get a check out turbos are fine, he thinks it the valve guilders or bottom end. but cart be 100 % till head is off
start it up about 5 mins ago so i dont get a flat battry and and stuff.
Started to hear a ticking/ taping noise never heard it before, and i check the oil it was half way down the dip stick. ( new oil 3 months ago and only been dive about 10 ks)
now any ideas ??
do you need more info???
anyone no avg price and so on
or is it worth reparing it ???
anything will be very helpfull.
loved soarer since the first time i saw one, saved for 3 year finaly got one and it a lemon

well you got 3 options.
1) you get the whole motor rebuilt
2) just do a valve regrind but no guarrantees this will fix everything
3) probably your best option, just replace the motor. get incontact with Aaron Klaver he has a 1jz and a 2jz, these will both fit the 2jz being an upgrade. Aarons mobile number is 0401226688. then all you got to do is get some one to put it in for you

instead of getting a whole engine rebuild, why dont you get a front cut and just put in then entire new front end? that way, it saves money and hassel. But do test the engine before put in the front end.
