Joseph - i don't think i can get the turbo off the manifold as the nuts line up exactly with the bolt where the oil feed goes into the turbo.

I'll take another look as that was the problem with the front turbo, maybe the rear turbo has some space.

If i can get to the rear turbo this way, should i only remove the rear turbo.. i was planning to remove both in one piece from the engine.

If i only remove the rear, will i need to get another new gasket for the turbo -> dump pipe connection ?

Thanks for the help.

if you are going to do one gasket then you might aswell do all 3 of them just to be sure. for the cost of the extra gaskets it worth it and it means they shouldnt blow out later once its pushing the full pressure through properly again.

@Adrian - I would have to agree with that..

I've found a few turbo workshops in Melbourne that i will call to see what gaskets i can get.

I've been advised after calling around a number of workshops that the Nissan thick multilayer gaskets are the best one's to go with..

It was also suggested that i have the turbo mounts machined to make sure they are flat. Should i get this done whilst the assembly is all off the car ?

Thats correct there Justin and I doubt your rear housings would be twisted, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt

Here is the result of the old gasket...

As you can see... dead..

However i think i need a new manifold as the old one must have had a problem at some point and they put helicoil in the stud hole, i think that is what stretched and caused the gasket to go..

Where do i get these manifold adapters from ??
