Thanks guys, could a few more people just check theirs, I've seen a few with 1cm of slack nearly on full throttle, just want to get a few more answers to make a concensus on how the factory has it.
I've gone to adjust mine, I followed Repair manuals which say for the A340E that the little stopper on the cable should just be showing about 1mm, It's adjusted to that but at full throttle there is about 1cm of slack e.g you can pull the line pressure cable out another 1cm...... I take it this is because of it stretching over the years? So I take it the service manual procedures don't apply anymore?.
I'm about to adjust it so JUST as it reaches full throttle, it has 0 slack, so at 90% it would have tiny bit of slack but at 100%, no slack..... would this be the correct way to do it?
Thanks guys.

I doubt it. Let's say it stretched to double it's length. You then adjust it to have 1 mm slack at the collar. It's still the same length between the collar and the gearbox end.

I thought it should have 0 Slack like the other guys mentioned though? Just so we're all on the right track, I adjusted it, so when I fully open my throttle, then try to tug on the cable to pull it out more, there is no slack, e.g cant pull it out anymore, if I put it down to 90% throttle, bit of slack.
As for the location of that notch on the cable in relation to the rubber boot, it's about 1cm away from it so not like the factory service specs say but still at WOT there is no slack and I guess if other guys are running at that with no damage guess it should be fine when i start it up and take it for a drive.
Daniel at throttle closesd Shouldn't you have heaps of slack, by slack I mean amount you can pull the cable out when you tug on it. When I got the engine/box is at came, It was adjusted so the little notch on the cable was just poking out of the rubber boot. At WOT you could pull on the cable and it will come out about 1cm more, I was taking it that this was bad and that there should be 0mm movement at WOT when you try pull the cable out even more, right?

Nope there can still be some movment at WOT . You just dont want any / much slack from 0% throttle so as your accelerating , your moving the line pressure cable .
Over tightening can actually be too tight and wont allow the throttle body to close completely causing high idle and erratic shifting i found .
Oh ok is that what you meant. There is no slack so as soon as the throttle plate begins to move the line pressure moves pretty much.
In that case I just want to know how much movement there is at WOT, that way I can properly adjust my cable, could you guys please check for me as I hope to start the car up today, basically just want to know once the throttle is at 100%, tug on the kickdown cable and how much move can you pull out.
