Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some advice. I recently installed an after market exhaust. 3inch 2.5 combo.
After installation I noticed a slight misfire from 1st to 2nd change, and at top end it misfires before it hits boost cut. I'm thinking it may be coil packs. I have changed the plugs and installed the BKR7e 0.8 as a result but it still does the same.
Now I have noticed hair line cracks on the coils but these where there prior. Could this be the problem? it was running fine prior to the exhaust.

What do you guys think?

Also we Encountered a sensor to the cat on the stock system which we did not put on the new exhaust, would this be a problem??

Thanks in advance for your info and advice

cheers

Christian

That sensor you are talking about isn't the O2 sensor is it?

Auto soarers retard/cut timing between gear changes, this is accentuated with an aftermarket exhaust. It kinda pops and farts during the change. Is this the noise you are hearing? Does it only happen in the gear change under load?

The plug that doesn't fit on your new exhaust is the cat overheating sensor, this isn't going to cause a problem (mine isn't plugged in either)

Hi James I thought that to be he case with the plug. Thanks for clearing that up.

No the misfire is like a coil pack leak or spark plug that is not connected correct(Used to happen to my old datto many years ago lol). My mate had a similar problem with his and it was the coil clips but mine are fine. from first to second, its a slight hesitation but it does fart and pop up top before it hits boost cut.

But it only does it from 1st to second and up top at full boost.

will check coil packs

Ok an update, James you may be correct about the engine retard. Just took it for a drive and it does it from 1st to second and and a full boost before the last gear change, it does it again. Is every one else getting the same symptoms?
Is so how should I go about fixing it.

I'll be getting a shift kit at some stage maybe this would help.

Anyway thanks to anyone that inputs to this.

cheers

Thanks Daniel,
I was also thinking of gapping my plugs to .07
using the Bkr7e .08 at the moment.
Worth a try.

Cheers
