the car runs fine with a paper clip bridging fp and b+ but the paper clip gets really hot really quick and my mechanic told me it wont make it a 10km drive to where it needs to go and that it will melt all the diagnosis plugs, is this true or just him wanting to be careful and safe ?? how long would i be able to drive it with a hot paper clip ?

Yeah it gets hot bit not enough to melt the plug. The thicker the wire the less heat as thicker wire can take more current safely.I used a big paperclip and doubed the wire over and twisted it . You can make a proper jack with some 2-3mm electrical and put a blade connector on each end if you a worried. This will take the 12v fine.

I've been told that generally they burn out after 20 years of trying to covert 12v back to 9v. If you havd a walbro fuel pump you don't really need it as they run on 12v anyway. You will just has to remember that if you turn the key in you car tge pump will start pumping so if don't leave they key turned on without the engine running of you will flood your engine.
